Lost a key. Battery is dead on spare. Put in new battery, it lost programming. New key and program 2 keys roughly 400$. Is there a alternative?

Random question. Tacoma chaeges phone extremely slow and only when ignition is on. Is there a better way.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
Are you using the wireless charger? Or a cable. The wireless charger on these trucks suck. It's pretty much just a very expensive cubby. I've never had a problem charging with a cable, though.

There's a mod somewhere on here to keep the USB in the center console on even when the ignition is off. You gotta be comfortable soldering electronics. As far as I know, there's no way to do the main one. At least not if you want to use it for music.

The screen on the dash warns me when key fob battery is getting low,,, maybe for that reason. If I think about it, I will change em out before I get that warning. I do the same with scopes and red dots.
The OE wireless charger is da poo-stick, pretend like it's just a cubby.
The port in the center console is the charging port. The port with the USB emblem under the HVAC controls is not an actual charging port, it is a data connection,,,, but will charge at very slow rate,,, about the same slow rate the wireless charger.

    Thank you for the replies.

Both the USB on the dash and under the center console charge very slow. I will have to look at the mod for the center console to always have power.

Toms keys I will take a look at them. Heard of it but I need to console more research.

Battery was dead only for a few days. It would work intermittently. Thought ok just change the battery like I have on all my other cars. Stopped working completely after the battery change.

I didn’t think you could lose the program. Check the battery is making good contact and isn’t upside down.

EDIT: even with a failed battery, pushing the start button with the remote should still work.
