New King Shocks 3.0s

Well sorry I’m late to post on here. But most of you guys that follow me and my shop www.rogue-offroad.com , have seen we got in the New 3.0 IBP King coilovers along with the 3.0 rear bypasses ! Yaaaassss! While we haven’t had the time to bolt these up and test on the shop Tacoma . We have a few customers on them . Soon we will have more feed back . And hopefully soon We can test them on the Tacoma.

Currently I’m finishing up some R&D on the 8112 Coilovers from Bilstein. We have determined that most 3rd gen will need a different spring rate, that’s if they are running a heavier setup up front (winch &bumper) Bilstein will be offering a “overland “ spring option. We have the springs already and can outfit you. They also may offer a shim for the top plate.

Now back to the Kings , we have a long history working with king . And like the 8112 we have been waiting for these for sometime now . Rightfully so ! 3.0s. 3in diameter shock with internal bypass and finned Resi. Oh yeah ! King has spent some time and have had these in testing on Ross Kings Tacoma for over a year now . One spin around the block left us like Wow! And then we waited . And waited and lost hope when we were told it’s probably not going to happen. But last year , we received word that it was given the green light. So months later we finally have them !

Again we soon will have more info up and some feedback from customers that are running them. Hopefully we will have videos .

Also @Despized I noticed on the fronts it claims 3” more travel. How does that work with out having LT arms or is this designed for LT kits only?
I figure the rear can accommodate the extra travel with the right leafs. Would be cool to get some more info on this.

 

saw the 3.0 at king of hammers on 17 tacoma? truck was in the back hiding. I asked and they said only work on 16 and up? not tested on older tacos yet.

 

Quoting this to get an answer...I'm curious as well. 3" more travel would be great. Hell, I'd take even half that!

Also, what is the benefit of a 3" shock vs a ~2.5? Just better cooling? If you mostly do crawling and aren't bombing through the desert; is there any real benefit?

 

Any update here? Interested and curious to hear an answer to the above three questions, and after looking in the threads below, I didn't really see this clearly explained. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I wasn't seeing it.

Is this set up with a Total chaos LT? Or is that the TC stock length lowers?

yeah! any updates? I'm literally about to pick up the phone to order TC uppers and stock length lowers and some kings. 3.0's on a 2012 Regular Cab?!

 

Give us a call we can get you setup and we can discuss the 3.0s We have them on our shop truck now and have been running them for awhile. Just been making adjustments here and there on them to dial it in better than what they came from off the shelf .

@Despized will these coils work with stock lowers? Or only stock length aftermarket lowers?

 

3.0's for a stock length replacement shock seems.... well... dumb
