New member from AL

Hello everyone!

Just recently signed up. I am planning on purchasing a new Tacoma later this month.

Looking at getting a 2012 DCSB 2wd with the TRD Offroad Package in white or silver.

I currently have a clean, tastefully modified 08 Subaru STI hatch that I am selling to get the new truck... (sale pending)

I live near Birmingham, AL and looking forward to learning much from the forums here!

Thanks! I bought it new, it's been a fun car. Stage 2 ecu, turbo-back exhaust, springs, sways, short shifter, etc.

Time to move on though, need something more reliable (the STI motor is a ticking time bomb, broken piston ring lands are common), and I want to be able to carry a motorcycle, explore new places, etc.

 

I'm really considering getting the 4x4 TRD Off Road... Never had a 4x4, unless you count the Subaru, but I've been told it only takes once getting stuck somewhere in a 2wd, or not being able to go somewhere, that you'll be kicking yourself about not getting the 4. I used to have a DCSB 2wd Frontier and got "stuck" in wet grass once, needed a little push. I always thought that was a little ridiculous how easily it could get stuck somewhere.

I'm not looking to start serious offroading, but for the handful (or more...) times a year that I'll use the 4wd, the $3000 difference doesn't seem all that bad on a nice new truck. Thoughts??

 

Sold my Subaru today! Just have to wait till next week for the check to clear and then my Toyota dealer is gonna bring in the exact truck I want.

Have a price quoted for over a grand below invoice price.

It's a white double cab short bed 4x4 with TRD Offroad, towing package, and tint for $32,000 out the door. I think that's $1200 below "invoice"...

Instead of doing the special financing rate of 2.9, they got me 3.24 and $500 cash back. So I got the truck for 31,500 OTD.
