    I recently traded in my 2003 GMC 2500HD for a 2012 Tacoma. That might seem like a strange move to some, but I haven't needed to tow huge trailers for a couple of years now, so the GMC was overkill.

    The Tacoma is a silver double-cab SR5, and looks to be a good addition to the garage. The GMC was an extended cab long bed, and the Tacoma seems to be about 3 feet shorter, a foot narrower (GMC had huge mirrors), and a foot lower. The smaller footprint is nice in the garage, really nice on the road, and amazing when trying to park, especially in the tiny spaces in places like Boulder.

    No mods as of yet, but my wife did get them to include a bed extender in the deal (I have to install it). I'll be looking at either a bug shield or clear bra, possibly a "topper" of some sort, and Weathertech floor mats before next winter. It's not my daily driver, so I'm not planning on going too crazy with it.

    Anyway, this looks like a great forum and I've already been searching and finding some good information.

    Science has proven that most bug deflectors do not work! Although it is a little pricy, I would go with the Clear Bra. I got top dollar for my 2008 Mazda Miata (Grand Touring) when I traded for my 2012 Tacoma Access Cab. The Miata looked showroom new without a ding or blemish on the front end. Most clear Bras are 8MM thick clear polyurathane and do a bang up job of protecting your paint. I will be adding a clear bra to my Tacoma as soon as I can find a retailer in West Tennessee.
