Hello all, hope your Summer is going well. The wife finally got her dream car--a truck. She's been wanting a Tacoma forever and we were finally in a position to get her one. She's a demanding little thing: "I want to sit up high--but I want good gas mileage and lots of power! I want to haul stuff around, too!" After a few attempts at different vehicles--the last one being a craptastic 2010 Honda CR-V--ridiculously underpowered and much too small for my 6'4" frame, we found this Taco while vacationing in Florida. Initially she test drove an FJ, but it rode like, well, an off-road vehicle (DUH!) and the visibility was a complete nightmare.

Anywho, she absolutely loves this truck. Drives great--except for those damn low profile tires on 20 inch rims. It starts to shimmy when we get above 50mph or so. Took it in for tire balancing and rotation and to make sure it wasn't a caliper or bearings, and sure enough, the mechanic rotated and balanced everything twice and came to the conclusion it was the the big, low profile wheels. C'est la vie. It's her truck and it doesn't bother her.

The first thing I'll be doing is getting rid of the ridiculously bad stock Totota stereo. Gonna replace it with a Pioneer with USB.

The previous owner blinged it up with chrome--she loves that. Except for the ridiculous fake air vent things on the doors. And he added "4x4" on the back for some reason. It's not.

Anywho, got a feeling I'll be looking for some stock 18's in the near future.

Thanks, ya'll! Yes, I agree--more chrome than allowed by law. I mentioned to my wife that I was surprised the dude didn't have the tonneau cover chromed. I don't think the wife looks forward to polishing all that bling.

Here's some more chrome for your viewing pleasure:
