New member joining and looking to tap into all the great experience of everyone here... tips, tricks, chat and input. Own a modified supercharged 2003 Tacoma that's my pride and joy. Putting a new engine in next week (blew two already!). and will be looking for some fuel management advice once I start digging into the posts... so I don't blow another! Live in Eastern Pa.

supercharger by dealer two weeks after purchase. awesome upgrade. No other mods at the time. Maybe I got lucky but it was fine for about 150K. then I blew out the bottom end while getting on it to pass a truck on the highway. Bought a salvaged US engine that was told had about 72K on it. Carfax was leading to it being possibly the truth but I still wonder... blew that engine a few months ago. maybe I should not be surprised that it went because was told by Toyota after my cats failed and were repaired that it was running lean. I wasn't sure what to do but drove it back and forth to and from work anyways. Only 8 miles commuting one way.. that cant hurt right? Dragged my butt on addressing the issue and 1.5 years later... the piston cracked on that one. Against my wifes wishes I'm putting in anothe. JDM. This time changing out the plugs with IK22s, supra injectors, cooler thermastat and walbro 190 fuel pump. Also had JBA headers installed and a Airraid tube. Truck should be ready next week. Now I need to install approprite ECU piggback and cant get a handle on best (cost effective) approach on that. Hence tapping into the wealth of info here. Thats the bascis of it all!

Dang. Should’ve had fuel upgrades in before any of that happened. Here’s to longevity in the next one haha :proposetoast:

I'll be searching the posts for as much info on piggybacks and making some sort of choice. Was going to go with URD/split second but also been reading stuff on the newer equipment out there like MAPECU3, haltech (expensive) and AEM FIC.

Yea. This engine better get me by for awhile. if this one goes, the wife will likely bury me in it before I can sink anymore $$$ into it. Shes alreay a bit pissed... the engine is dead and being replaced at the shop and I'm still buying lights, hood vents and accessories for it... even though its a big paper weight right now.
