Haha, your point is well taken. I guess I'm a little bit of a gullible worry wart.

Well, I took possession of my new truck on Friday night. 2015 DCSB Sport 6-speed in Pyrite Mica. The truck had just arrived on the car carrier the day before. The salesman and I unwrapped it of all its shipping plastic like a giant Christmas gift! Test drove a TRD-OR in automatic first for comparison, but ended up going with the manual Sport. I would highly recommend the dealership where I bought it - Team Toyota in Glen Mills, PA. The Internet Manager gave me a great deal (invoice) and was the only person I dealt with for the entire process. No tag team BS that I experienced elsewhere. Anyway, here she is at the dealer and in the garage with my 1983 FJ-60 Land cruiser.

Be patient with the 6 sp trans to loosen up. It takes about 10k miles. After that, swap out the trans oil with some MT-90 & you'll be a happy camper for years to come.

Whew, am I happy to hear you say that, because frankly, on the ride home from the dealer and on the test drive - I was thinking the manual might have been a mistake. That's one crunchy, tight box! I've been driving stick for years, but have never owned a new one, so I was hoping break in would occur. Additionally, the rev hang feature between shifts is a tad annoying, but I suppose I'll adjust. Thanks for the redline advice as well. I've got it in stock, as a matter of fact. 10K you say until she loosens up? I sure hope so haha. The automatic I test drove sure was smooth.

I can't wait till the entire industry adopts the "Tesla model" where you essentially buy direct from the manufacture, fixed pricing, no BS. Realistically, I think we are at least a decade away from that buying model is common place. We've just got to get the masses out of the dark ages.

    Congrats Op, beautiful looking truck.

Wow, you hit all the major hang up's such as the RPM hang between shifts. Well, I can say this much, it's almost normal with the A/C on as far as the hanging revs. Now, I drive an X-runner which has a 3.15 rear end gear whereas (I might be wrong on this one) I think you're new rig has either 3.70 or 3.73 final drive ratio. I skip gears with the air off regularly but in S.Florida the air is on 9 months a year at least. 2nd to 4th, 4th to 6th ect. I would think that if that rear is what I think it is, you would be able to do that ever easier with less potential for for falling out of the power band too badly.

    Update:
After two months of buyers remorse, I traded in my Pyrite Mica Sport 6-speed DCSB on a Magnetic Grey DCSB Off Road Automatic. It was a hard decision, but ultimately it was the right one. It cost me a little bit of money to correct the mistake, but now that I've done it, I couldn't be happier. The 6-speed was just awful to drive. Should have trusted the opinions I researched on here before I went with stick in the first place. Happy New Year to all.
