    Hello everyone!

I currently own a 1994 ext cab pickup (hilux) which died two days ago. So now I have to get a new vehicle.

I recently sold my 07 wrx to get into a new truck.

Soooo now I am looking at a couple 2010 Quad Cab Long bed V6 trd trucks.

What should I be looking in dealer discounts? So far they are taking $1300 off of sticker.

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks!

The site pretty much lists what they were giving me. 3.9 for 60 months and 1300 off sticker. So I guess they used the 750 and added some more to it.

Also if you can, check several dealers. I had to drive about 50 miles each way, and wait an extra week, but I got an extra $1300 for my trade in, and still got the lowest price on my Taco.

Do your research at http://www.edmunds.com/ before you go buying a vehicle so that you go in prepared.

Do price comparisons at places like www.carsdirect.com to see what you should be paying.

Call any dealerships internet department to get prices, they don't haggle they just give you a good price.

DO NOT let them use the manufacturer or dealer discount promo whatever they call it (the one they mail later) to take down your price, tell them you want that price without the discount and they can mail you the discount in addition. Don't let them try and talk their way out of this (I fell for it because I had gone like 36 hours without sleep).

Also, if you are going to be carrying loads in the truck, have them do the TSB for rough rides under load.

That is all I can think of right now...

I have time to do searching. I did a 25 mile search and found 7 long beds. I will open the search up some more.

I will check their inventory thanks!

All good points. Right now I am driving a hurt trail truck to work and went to toyota yesturday with the intention of just doing a test drive with my family.

I have to get some better numbers before talking numbers with them Friday.

I wish it was further in the year and these were leftovers. I got a killer deal on my wrx as it was a leftover.

Yeah they love that. I want them to hammer down on the price of the truck. The monthlys will fall where they will.

I put some loot down to lock the negotiations in at 3.9 over 60 months. This Thursday their new packages come out so we will see what the rates/give backs will be.

you really have to take your time on this and make sure dealer has the truck that you really really want! The dealer that has the truck (color and options) will deal with you. They took $4000 off mine sept 08 for a 2009... fight for every dollar, you will get it!
once you have the truck.... awesome feeling!

I have to say I am a happy camper. I was happy with the first price they gave me. It wasn't much over what I was paying monthly on the 07 WRX I just sold.

So I took your advice and ran the TMV and List prices for the truck. I am an avid lover of making detailed spreadsheets so I stayed up Saturday night and found all of the long bed, double cab, TRD trucks in a 50 mile radius of my house.

Then I emailed each of them asking for a quote.

On Monday morning the madness began. I was called every 5 mins by different dealers. I had to log the contact, number, options, color and price of each truck.

I ended up with my first dealership with a price of 28,500.

The truck's name is Samantha (kids helped me name it) and she is a 2010, double cab, long bed, TRD (PY), tow package (TO) equipped truck.

I drove the access cab and thought the double bed would be optioned the same but found that it was not. I don't have the electric lock diff. I have an automatic full time diff.

I also have a backup camera that is in the rear view mirror.

I love this friggen truck. I hope it lasts me 15 years at the least. Now it is just a race to 300k.

I am looking for a way to input my Ipod to the radio from the back of the unit. I have the aux port but would like to hide it. I know there was an option on the toyota site but couldn't find it while there. Any suggestions (I am going to do a search too)?

Also I didn't get the factory side steps because they wanted 1k installed w/ tax and financed were looking to make another $200 over the life of the loan. So I am looking to either get the stockers or a nice set of aftermarket. Any suggestions (I am going to search this one as well)?

When are the NJ meets I want to see some modded Tacos.

There are quite a few different ipod connectors for the back of the radio, although they weren't loud enough for me... so I suggest going with a new head unit personally.

    Thanks!

    Thank you!

Thanks for the heads up. After reading/watching the audio articles on ********* I am going to go with a new headunit and a set of component speakers.

Still enjoying the truck some years later. Just installed a cap on it thanks to the "show us your cap" thread.
