You won't be more pleased with these trucks. They run like new for many many miles. Maintenance is simple. Oil change every 5k miles and diff fluid every 30k. Trans fluid is good for the life of the truck according to Toyota...but that is a touchy subject on this site. Good luck in finding a good truck for yourself. If you are looking into the TRD models, there is a Sport and an Off Road edition. Both have different features.

I have had my 2010 Sport for 2 1/2 years. Other than routine maintenance, the only issues I've had have been a few TSBs - rear leaf springs, blower motor and DTL lens. I think the only recall was for trimming the gas pedal. So basically zero problems. It's been great.

IMO maintenance on these trucks is very user friendly. As modern vehicles go, most things are accessable with minimal special equipment.

As for problems there is a laundry list. You'll need to search. here are a few:
    Clutch problems
    Manual transmission problems
    rear end failures
    drivetrain vibrations
    rust
    rear leaf spring issues
    spiral cable recall
    gas pedal recall

The 05 and 06 have the longest list. You can start here:

Welcome to TW. I have an '11, and the only issue I have had is the blower motor chirp. They replaced with the new part, and no issues.
