I ordered a pro grill last week at the dealership. Yesterday I got a call from them informing me that they would no longer sell pro grills for non-pro vehicles and cancelled my order.

Called the dealer today about the recall, told them I had a fake pro grill and they said shouldn't be a problem, its just gonna be a matter of how long it takes them to get it off. Still don't trust it until I get there. Anybody else been given shit for their fake pro by the dealer for this?

I went in this morning and I’ve got a pro grille and sensor on it. They didn’t say anything and needed to order the replacement sensor.

They didn’t say anything about the grille, just that they need to order and replace my sensor.

That’s the same thing I heard from my dealerships parts guy that sold me mine when he saw my grille.

I had my '18 in for the 5000 / 6 month "service" yesterday and I saw the info about the recall. I called the service advisor and he wasn't even aware of it and just told me to schedule another appointment once I get the letter. Not a big deal since I haven't seen any of the symptoms yet.

Nope. They have to seal the unit. Water intrusion is a problem.

There's going to be plenty of people who installed the pro grille denied this warranty request. I had a feeling it would happen and decided to not get one. Really glad I didn't. I bet that's a spendy sensor.

I don't think it'll be an issue, the recall has nothing to do with the grill. Seems like there is a hole in the sensor that allowed water to enter causing the sensor to malfunction. So the corrective action on a sensor that doesn't test defective is to put sealant over the hole. If sensor tests defective or displays the listed symptoms then replace sensor.

At least that's how I understand it.

I received the recall notice in the mail yesterday. I too have the knock off grill.

I'm afraid they may give me grief because when I installed, I taped a piece of plastic around the sensor to protect it. Been fine until recently. I'll try to find a picture.

Funny thing is, I didn't get any of the warnings until I put my lift on a few weeks ago. I assumed it was related. The brake warning goes off whenever I pass a large highway sign.
