Hey everybody, just wanted to follow up and let everyone know the outcome of the horror a few weeks ago. Here's a re-cap for everyone https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bhlm-gone-horribly-wrong.538082/

Wound up getting a brand new stove and was only $125 out of pocket to cover the pro-rated cost of the old stove. Apparently it was 10 years old and was going to be replaced once we moved out in a few months.

I also treated the Tacoma to 4 new shoes and a suspension upgrade.
    - Pro Comp A/T Sport 265/70/17's
    - Blistein 5100's all the way around
    - EMU 2885's up front

Not sure I like the tires, a bit more squirrely than I like, especially on wet roads.Huge noticeable difference in mileage as well. I do a ton of highway driving and am going to replace them with Nitto Durra Grapplers, which is a light truck highway tire.

Lastly, my wife was super cool about the whole disaster, and just glad that no-one got hurt and the house didn't burn down. Gave us a good excuse to go out for beer and pizza that night.

Thanks to everyone for the "love" they showed that day, made me feel much better. IMG_8713-2.jpgVY5x1tJJSma%kwo0vSOq8Q.jpg

Your headlights look terrible. I think you need to modify them - by putting them on a towel - in the stove lol... Please make sure nobody is home and the fire department is on standby!

Squirrely? Maybe check pressures and alignment?

Nice.. The Pizza... did you get any toppings with that?

Blackened something is first thing I'm thinking! Just a thought.

Glad it all worked out. What was the final solution for your new headlight?

So how did her homecoming happen? 1-she knew before getting home , 2 she smelled it and then you told her, 3 you met her outside with a couple beers and told her after the beers were down ?
All kidding aside , she sounds like a keeper ,. Glad all worked out well and the truck looks great .

I had those pro comp tires on a silverado years ago and thought the same thing. Almost scary in the rain. I did remove them after not to long and went a different route.

Some AT tires don’t evacuate rain water very well.

    Glad everything turned out OK.

I am just imagining the Base Services commander trying to grasp why someone was cooking their headlights in the oven, and why Bragg Fire had to be called.

As soon as a I get a pair of those sweet turn signal mods that you keep running out of before I can order.

They acted this way on the 100 mile drive home from 4 Wheel Parts. They are just to hard and to aggressive a tire for the amount of highway driving that I do. Swapping them out on Wednesday for the Nitto Durra Grapplers and should be quite happy then.
