We are the new owner of 2002 Base 4 x 2 Silver Tacoma (with the base engine and the five-speed manual transmission), although it has been in the family since new. This was the second Tacoma owned by our family and we were able to get it when it was replaced by a third Tacoma, the latest being a 2009 Tacoma Base 4 x 2. Although it has low mileage at under 60K, it has a good mix of road and local miles on it. It has been thoroughly used for it main purpose with household and related projects, but it has never been used for hauling loads of dirt or similar heavy loads items.

My wife and I are "drivers" and would rather drive than fly. (Our other cars are a '95 Miata and an '04 Forester, both purchased new and each with almost exactly 150K miles on them.) We plan to be doing some basic things that we expect to have a positive impact on performance, but are undecided about exactly what they will be. We will probably do a couple of appearance / convenience items, but want to keep it pretty close to its standard appearance.

Needless to say, we are happy to have this...
