    I purchased a White TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB about 3 weeks ago, just broke 400 miles! I have been browsing this site for about 2 weeks now...

    I have got alot of info from this site thanks...

    for instance found out there is a TSB for leaf springs on 2008 an older....
    notified my neighbor who has an 06, he said his truck did bottom out with a load of wood....talked to my dealer they said if I notice a problem let them know...I am in no rush to do it now and have time to wait for a possible 2009 TSB.

    Only other concern I have so far: Rust...did toyota fix this frame rust problem for new models...I notice about 3 small places on my rear axle with surface rust about 1 inch wide, I am thinking about sanding it off and putting rust primer and some kind of rust protector on it before salt season...any thoughts? Otherwise the frame looks black....

    sorry to be so longwinded the first post!!! Overall I love the truck, I debated on it or an F150 FX4....ultimately the tacoma won because it fit in the garage!

    Welcome to tw. Just rust proof it yourself that's the first thing i did to my truck.bought rust proofing paint,went to a local shop paid $20 for using their rack painted the chassis,differential and axle. For the underbed i used the rubberized spray to deaden some road noise.hope this helps.
