Finally placed my order for this!

Totally stoked to drop it in in 2 days time. Passengers will be entertained with MUCHNESS. I don't think I have ever gone wrong with Pioneer. Anyone else have something similar?

i have the older brother of that one (the 3200dvd) and it is a beast of a HU. i think youll be happy with it. the only thing ive found is that with the pioneer units like this that the fm signal is a little on the weak side. but i hardly ever listen to the radio (have an iphone for that musik stuffs) but i put one in my moms car a couple of years back and she had the same problem with the radio signals.

    but yea PIONEER FTMFW

I'm very excited! Glad to hear from some Pioneer guys on here too! I will post pics upon completing the install, @2012TacomaDan: It can be expanded to have GPS. I would have gotten a slighter better model had I the funding, I already think I put way too much into it LOL....eughhhhhhh vehicles+OCD.

Can anyone comment on the USB/SD read performance of the new Pioneer HUs?

I ended up going with an MVH as the load time on a class 6 16gb SD card was around 19 seconds. The other Pioneer HUs I demo'd were either considerably slower to initially play, or slow to scroll through folder.

Although iPod compatibility is great for those that own one, I feel like the HU manufacturers are neglecting the rest of us. Rather then engineering their systems to properly enumerate and handle removable storage devices, we are left with inferior features.

Using an iPod gets you all the features, but I believe that the iPod is doing the real work, not the HU. The iPod becomes a forced $250 upgrade just to make your $250+ HU work correctly.
