Sorry guys have not been on the computer today. I am replying on the iPad and cannot upload pics. I have a few on my work computer and they will be up tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's reply whether it is to bless me out or what. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. My opinion is that he stays outside and runs free while out there. We provide him a nice lot and home, he stays out of the elements whether it be rain or snow. He has a nice house that is just right for him and has a good layer of the chips below his pillow. And he loves it. This morning he was out there laying in the chips and pushed the pillow to the side. He came out and played with me for a few minutes then went back in to lay down. Now to solve my issue of making him a bit warmer, my dad and I have ordered him a doggy door and we are going to set up a heat lamp that will heat the whole area for him. Or we may get him a heating/air condition unit for dog houses depending on what we find. During the summer it is a high of mid 90s so we keep his hair short. In the winter at night it may get down to the teens and we keep his hair long. We love him and we make sure he knows it and enjoys his life. Whether or not some of you like it or hate it that's your opinion. We know he is happy and enjoys life.

Again your little guy will be fine. Put him a light/lamp in his house for the coldest nights, the light won't bother him, ever see a dog sprawled out in the sun, asleep?

One thing in your post above does, however, puzzle me. A beagles' fur does/will not get any longer/shorter with the weather, hot or cold. He will, get a THICKER winter coat, shed like hell, come spring, preparing for the hot months.

My cousin had really bad pet allergies, he had a series of shots for I think 6 months to cure the allergies. He finished this procedure in April and is going strong with 3 dogs in the house.

how about this thread is stupid?

if your old enough to buy a dog you should understand what goes into taking proper care of them.

this needed a thread on tw why?

"My" dogs are in the middle of my bed, under my covers. But if you'd read this thread you would know that. The OP has since sailed, with his pup sleeping outside, and both will be just fine.

dogs belong indoors at least most every breed that i have ever seen they are not the wild animals they once where as stated by someone before me.

can a dog "survive" outdoors sure if the region and climate are mild enough but, why get a dog and consider making it live its life in your garage or back yard huddled for months out of the year to a ceramic heater?

just bring the dog inside give it a warm safe place pay for its vet bills and if your allergic fucking deal with it get shots walk it off idk or give the dog to someone who will provide it the proper care.

imo they are like furry little kids and i treat mine as such. i'm also positive my dogs live a much better life than whats being discussed in this retarded thread.

you see where i'm coming from though right?

maybe i give people more credit than they deserve but, imo if your old enough to drive a car you should be aware of what another living creature needs to live a comfy existence.

i spend the better part of my time on this site actually trying help out guy's to point them in a better direction as it is.

i'm a dog guy and this kind of stuff always bothers me. lol i clicked on the thread expecting to see puppy pics and to leave a smiley face and instead it has gone full shit show. now people are arguing about whether or not the dog should have constant light blaring in its face  or to use a heat lamp like the dog is a fucking tater tot.

at the risk of sounding rude maybe the op or who ever at this point should just go to pet smart and read a book about who to properly care for your pet.

btw no pics many pages in smells kinda derp to me as well.

Serious question. Y'all keeping mentioning that dogs are not the same animals they were, correct? So why then, are you so certain they are still "pack" animals? Coyotes, may be packed up, or may be solitary. Maybe they didn't get the email...

the mind set remains but, only a few breeds remain that have not had certain things either bred in or out of them.

bull dogs boxers and english cocker spaniels do not exist in the wild...

they are still dogs though and they have adapted to living with humans better than any other animal i'm aware of.

this is my english cocker spaniel lol she would not last one day out side the dog would shit a brick. she also controls my great dane like he is a miniature poodle so that part of the dog is still very much intact.
