Hello, been reading the site for a while and use the search function that is for sure, but I am having trouble tracking down a missing button on my tacoma 2nd gen. It is the little one by the auto shifter. I think I read it is some sort of towing button? Anyway let me know what it does and where to get a replacement.

I am a former Passat owner and used Passatworld.com all the time so I was pumped to find a tacomaworld!

My 06 Tacoma. Pretty much stock. Will be color matching my grill in the coming days and customizing it to a mesh look, with the large TOYOTA logo. Love that look.

#1) the little square by the auto shifter is for unlocking the shifter if it's ever needed.....and its not a button

#2)is that a sport that has been unsported or another model that has been made to look more like a sport??

Wow good catch. i knew the question was coming but not in the first 5 min. Well the story is: I bought it as a 2nd owner of a rebuilt wreck. It is a sport but when rebuilt they just put on the chrome grill cause it was cheaper and easier to get, they also did the same with the door handles and mirrors, as one door was damaged and they just changed out all to black as they couldn't find red. this is all theory, but make good sense to me. I do know for a fact it is a sport via the vin # and many other things.

I think I got a great deal due to the rebuild and owner needing to unload it. 34K on a 06 double cab. $13.6K

Was put back together pretty well and has 18K on it since the rebuild. No problems yet.
