2016 Inferno DCLB TDR OR 4x4
Hello Tacoma world, I don't have my truck yet, but put my deposit on it two weeks ago and should have it by beginning of April, can't wait!! Ordered an Inferno DCLB TRD OR 4x4. This will be my DD and weekend warrior. I have never been off roading so this will all be new to me (current DD is an Infiniti G35 coupe), but it's something I have wanted to get into; I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, and getting away from civilization, so this is the best way to do that IMO.

One of my other main reasons for getting the truck is so I can go down to Mexico for surf trips, so if anyone wants to let me follow along on their next Mexico surf trip, let me know! :)

I live in Oceanside, north county San Diego, btw.

I am also on the look for picking up free wood pallets and general reclaimed wood for house projects and the such, so having a truck to haul all that will be a huge help to me.

Been reading through the forum the past few days, getting really excited for getting my truck!!!

Definitely agree with you there! I love orange, birthday is halloween, so it's in my blood, haha. I also have a 67 VW squareback and it is orange, but it's a very vibrant and bright orange, unlike the inferno.

Welcome to TW. You sure you wanna bring your new expensive truck down to Mexico o_O? When I lived in Cali, there was a gated area right at the border where we parked so nobody in Mex could vandalized the car. It was about $5 to park but it was pretty secure.

Yeah I know, sounds stupid, but I'm not gonna be staying in TJ, or any of the super touristy/sketchy areas. I would ideally drive a few hours past the boarder to get into "real" Mexico, which I hear is generaly safer, still depending where you're going of course, just have to be smart and plan the destination in advance. There is actually a really beautiful wine country area one of my co workers just visited the other weekend that sounded great, about 2 hours south of TJ, and from the pics looked like a lot of fun dirt trails to test out too. :)

Going to Mexico isnt going to be my first action item with the truck, that's for sure, but it's definitely on the list of things to do with taco.

I want to explore what's east of SD a lot, and also go out to Arizona, and Utah, and all that as well. I really only have weekends off from work though, but can leave early some Friday's here and there to get a jump start on the weekend, so ideally, anywhere within a 4 hour drive is well within my range for a short weekend trip.

I plan to add a camper shell, so I will always have a place to sleep :)

    Thanks Matt!

Still waiting to be told my build date... Was originally told that I would find out build date two weeks ago, then was supposed to be this past week, yet still nothing.
