New stereo. what do i need?

    My girlfriends dad just gave me his old stereo. Its a JVC KD-S24. I will install it with him since he knows stereos well enough but i dont know what I need to buy to get it to fit. (dash kit, harness, ect...) Can anyone give me a hand?

    you can get a dashkit that comes with 2 harnesses to connect to your stock plugs and some wiring pliers from *********.com. i got them from there but through ebay.

    is there a certain kind of harness and dash kit i need? i really have no clue about stereos

    You should be able to get a dash kit for your truck off ebay or Amazon pretty cheap. I got mine off Amazon. The wiring harness as outlaw7 said is a two plug harness. I got mine from Best Buy. It's a Toyota harness that fits all Toyota's from 87' up. You can just use crimp connectors to connect the head unit harness to the one you pick up. Then that just plugs into your truck harness.

    I saw a few of the dash kits on Ebay and on the metra website their pretty close in price. But theres abot 3 different types. Would I just need the pocket that goes under the stereo or would i need the whole setup?
