Hello everyone, i signed up here 2 years ago when i was helping my friends with their Tacomas and i just now had a good opportunity to finally buy one.

1996 Tacoma automatic, 150xxx miles bought for $1,300. Runs great, no leaks (surprised), shifts smooth and no other problems i am aware of (little bit of vibration when breaking but i'll check out the rotors).
    - old guy sold the truck from side damage but it's only cosmetic.

I also own an integra which I have owned since i was 18 (now 25). I've blown the engine / rebuilt twice from turbocharging and the other wreck less crap from modding.

I'm fairly knowledgeable however i know nothing about trucks specifically.

Goals: Keep her running for now, it's mainly for my family to be able to move things rather than calling friends to help move stuff.
    - maybe lift her later for a bit of desert driving and camping, she's old though and i don't have a clue where to start when thinking about suspension for trucks.

Question: what are the timing belt replacement intervals (or is it a chain)?

    Thanks! Look forward to reading!

Nice truck man, is that the 2.4? Not too familiar with that year. Those old toyota's are bullet proof. I'd lose the bed bars, but if you like it right on.

As far as suspension and modding is concerned, it will be like your Integra and require a lot of time and research. Not sure if that's a belt or chain, sorry.

    Yea it's the 2.4 L 2RZ-FE I4 142 hp (106 kW).

Bed bars: They seem to be useful when tying things down.. the chrome looks cheesy though to me.

Looks like it's a chain and the 2.4 is a non-interference engine. Chain should be changed around 135xxx miles?
