As stated above, got some new tires however the tire shop is saying that I need 4 new TPS's????
Do TPS need to be replaced every time you replace a tire?

Did they break them when they took your old tires off the wheels?

No the sensors themselves do not, however you will need to have rebuild kits installed. The kits consist of new valve core, seal, nut, and cap.

When I bought my 2010 I went from stock 16" steel wheels to aftermarket 17" wheels and bigger tires. I did not have to replace them however the TPS for the factory wheels are not made for aftermarket wheels. They still work but have to be put in backwards. If I ever have to replace a tire I have to tell them the TPS are backwards so they know to push them into the tire before taking the tire off the wheel or they will be snapped off. If your were backwards and they didnt know it they likely broke them off.

This what they must be talking about, $10 per tire.

    Thanks

Cool, I thought they might be trying to snake me out of $40, It's the Firestone shop on base right across from where I work so it's not the cheepest place to go but it is very covenant.
