You are 100% correct on what the Bypass can do and how to adjust it.

I didn't want to go into full detail but thank you for doing it!

Alright soooo just to make sure I'm understanding correctly... the bypass helps the primary shock (for easy numbers lets just say it shares half of the force when tuned the same as the "main shock") but can be easily tuned to help less or more depending on the terrain conditions? So it both reduces load on the other shock AND makes for easy tuning, yes?

Correct. And you can set them up however you want. But if you are worried about stress from high load you should make sure your bump stops are set up properly as well.

Gotcha. I'm guessing that adding the Bypass and Bump Stops with require some drilling or welding?
Also, what about for rapid decompression, I've seen some people use straps?

To be honest, a bypass set up will be overkill for what you plan on doing with your truck.

You will need a bypass mount that is usually welded to the frame but also have a mount on the lower arm as well.

Unless you are going with a long travel suspension, you don't need a bypass, bump stop or limit straps.

Well I'd just like to be able to do anything with my truck...
I'd like to be able to take it to the dunes and hit some jumps or cruise through rocky mountain trails.
I also want to be able to drive on paved roads and drive aggressively without compromising the ride comfort or inducing any decreased control.
I'm still not sure what suspension set-up will give me the best of all worlds, but hopefully I can find a good match after some more research.
