New to the Game

Hello all!

I am new to this Tacoma game and will be purchasing an 09 here in the next month. I have pretty much decided on a 4WD DC Short Bed with TRD package (mostly because I love the TRD hood). I will be lifting the vehicle once I get it.

I have been looking into a 6" lift, but after searching on the this site, I am leaning towards a 3" of some sort due to costs of the 6" (Lift cost, regearing, brake lines, etc). I have seen many threads about 3" lifts, but what is the consensus on the best one out there?

Other mods will include wheels/tires (17" wheels/ 33" Tires), grille saver, off-road lights, supercrewsound.com dual 10" sub box, subs, amp, dvd/cd headunit with GPS.

Any input on any "must have" mods or advice on lift and accessories is much appreciated.

I am leaning towards Timberland because everyone has black vehicles around here.

 

Do I need to replace the rear shocks with a 3" lift. The ones I have looked at say that the stock shocks are fine. I will be getting all the bells and whistles (TRD, etc) so that included upgraded shocks from factory right?
