New Truck, New Guy

Hello, I just purchased my first Toyota on Saturday 12/29 and look forward toward learning and sharing on this site. It is a black, 2008 crew cab, sport, 4WD.

I had my first test yesterday with a small snowstorm here, about 4-5 inches total and pretty slick roads as I was out running errands. I must have looked like a kid with his first bike with the big smile on my face as I ran effortlessly down the roads on way home.

I replaced an 93 Chevy S10 2WD with 160K on it that had served me well but could not do what I needed and was looking ragged. I have always wanted to own a 4WD, specifically a Toyota and the Tacoma fits me just perfect, I love it.

I cannot wait until this summer when I no longer have to ask a neighbor or relative put my boat in or out at my river cabin. I have a steep gravel ramp and the S10 could not negotiate it, it was better as a light hauler and commuter car. I am already spotting potential firewood caches along the way and day dream of hauling wood, like a child dreams about a sled!

It is corny but I turned 41 recently and I swear I feel 15 years younger when I get behind the wheel.
