    they got it right the first time... It's sad they handed over the design to a blind person for the newer tundras. Imagine the older model with a 5.7L though... that would be sweet.

    Meh... Overkill.
    The 4.7 was a quick, high-revving motor and more than the lightweight Tundra ever needed. It wasn't a serious towing truck anyways with the T-100 rear end, and the brakes were barely adequate for the rated towing capacity, though I knew plenty of guys who stupidly pushed it and got away with towing 8k.
    The Tundra's 4.7 had 100hp more than the "4.7" in my '67 Chevelle, and pulled 16-18mpg.

    My father has a 2001 tundra. The Lexus v8 is such s good engine. Hasn't skipped a beat. Yet. I love driving his truck, it had the frame replaced not too long ago with new suspension. Basically brand new!

    New Tundy looks like the dodge front ends that have been going since 03, with the hood drastically higher than the fender lines
