    All,

To help with any "fly by night" businesses that can place our members in a tough position, we will be implementing new policies in place to better protect our members, and current vendors. Our current vendors (most) work day and night to ensure our members receive said product they purchased.

Going forward, any new vendors must meet the following requirements:
    1) Must have a valid business license.
    2) Business license must match said business address.
    3) Staff must be able to confirm said business license and address.

We, as staff feel this will prevent any scammers, non-responsive vendors, non-licensed vendors.

If you're interested in being a vendor, you will need to PM @tcBob with the request, and said license/address. (please remember, PM'g Bob does not mean you are entitled to be a vendor. This is simply a vendor request on vendors behalf for a decision whether your company may be added to the vendor sub-forum.)

Please feel free to post any questions you may have.

    In Good Spirit,

    TW Staff.

Does this apply to new vendors or do current vendors need to send the business license and business address?

 definitely a move in the right direction. What about non-vendors selling spare parts, etc.?

I have no problem at all with this. Would even submit current business licensing and information if needed.

Although probably a good idea, it would eliminate those who have full-time jobs and do parts on the side.

With these new rules, the KB VooDoo's, Mobtown Offroad's and RCBS204's of the future would be prohibited from officially promoting their wares, which would stymie new innovative products.

We'll have itrader ratings soon, as well as bst requirements (minimum posts, etc). Nothing is 100% safe obviously, but we can catch the low hanging fruit to help stop some of the issues.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Never had issues with any of the aforementioned vendors, BTW. All good guys.

How much does it cost to register a business in the US ? Pretty nominal fee up here .

Depending on where you are at but it's not much to acquire a business license in most states.

I agree that this would eliminate the little guy with a good product but there are other alternatives they can use like ebay or etsy.
I'm sure anyone is welcomed to bring their product to the table, but at least verifying the business gives a more credible view of who they are.

Not at all the only issue I would see would be garage fabricators trying to get one. When I first started BAMF in the garage at home I had to move to an industrial space due to zoning requirements in my city in order to obtain a business license. They wouldn't allow "industrial welding" without the address being zoned industrial.

Also city will not give you a business license unless you legally own, rent or lease the area in which you're conducting business.

Hair salons, smoke shops, liquor stores, etc. need to be in commercial zones.
Welders, carpenters, machinist, etc. need to be in industrial zone.

Oh yeah I forgot about those.
You can turn your home into a business center only for limited business criteria: daycare center, public notary, income tax filing, etc.
