    Id go with the duramax, get great mileage and have few problems from what I've seen. Just dont let them get anything that has all that emissions crap on it.

    Thanx fellas! It is beautiful up here in the mountains and believe it or not, may be even more like the old west than TX. You can still carry a loaded gun rack in you back window here, can't do that legally anymore even in TX.

    My last one was the 8.1L gas engine. I should have bought the diesel for resale/trade-in. Get the 6 spd Alison not the 5spd as it can dump the internal trans fluid pump from time to time which means dropping the tranny and completely rebuilding. The other thing to make sure is not to use a wet (K&N style oil) air filter if you replace the stock on or add a CAI. It will most likely cost you a new MAF and sensor. Use only dry filters.

    Yes it is!!! And the state senate just approved additional CCL opportunities - more training means more legal carry opportunities, like state govt buildings. In addition, reciprocity with 33 states now making it the most recognized CCL in the country!
