    Curt hitch, D-rings, bed mat
    Hi all,

I've been lurking here for a little while and have already learned a lot. Thanks! I just took delivery of my '09 Magnetic Gray regular cab Taco last night. It will serve commuter duty on my 80-mile round-trip to/from work during the week and will haul my motorcycles (dirt & street) and occasionally tow either my 17' bowrider boat or pop-up camper on the weekends. I've already ordered some extra D-rings for the front of the box and will probably go with the Hidden Hitch receiver hitch option. For the last several years, I've been hauling my garbage in the trunk of my '99 Nissan Altima  and towing my motorcycles in a utility trailer behind it. I'm really looking forward to having a truck again. My last one was a '90 Nissan Hardbody that I bought new and only had for a couple of years. This new Taco is SO much better in every conceivable way - and it didn't cost that much more - even 19 years later! I think I got a great deal on it... over $3K below MSRP. I came dangerously close to buying a 4-cyl Ranger after seeing the Taco's MSRP and assuming there was not much room to deal on it. I'm so glad I was wrong, because the Ranger is not in the same league. I'll get some better pics later (not than many people really want to see a base regular cab. LOL!), but here's the dealership's photo.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I appreciate it!

jhodge, I got mine from the same dealership... although it's called Lugoff Toyota now. James Ervin isn't associated with them anymore. Very laid back, easy to deal with crew in there. This was the easiest, most positive vehicle buying experience I've ever had... probably because all the "dealing" was done over the internet. By the time I actually walked into the dealership, there was nothing left to do but take a quick test drive and sign the paperwork.

Earlier in the week, I basically stumbled across THIS new truck at a Winston-Salem, NC Toyota dealership advertised on eBay for $13,988 (+tax/title/tags). I thought that was a real good price, so I checked the inventories at the dealerships in my area and found an identical truck (reg cab 5-speed plus the "Enhancement Extra Value Package" and floor mats) right there in Lugoff. I emailed their internet sales manager right from their website and asked if they would match that deal - and they did! Very painless process. Of course, now there's still the small matter of PAYING for it. ;)

thats not a bad deal. i called them when i was in iraq and told them i'd be home in a month and told them the specifics i wanted. they found 1 in the entire SE and it was headed to alabama of all places...haha. they dealed and got it coming to lugoff. i got 3k under msrp w/o a single haggle, test drive, or money down to hold it for the month until i got there. i tried to get my 09 from them too, but they could only do the same price i got it for here, so i just saved myself the driving time back and forth from NC.
