    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
I’ve seen one of those, it had wire axles and it ran on a long plastic orange track. Its funny how much the HotWheels of the past have become the car designs of today. Sorry to see the classic J series end like this, a JMC (J series Mall Cruiser).

They said they want it to compete with the Jeep wrangler. I really hope they do and actually make it off road capable with the same interior/visibility of the 4runner. I'd like to see beefy Land Cruiser axles, 4.56 or lower gears, minimum 34x10.5 fitting without a lift or trimming. To compete with Jeep make the wheel well accept a 35" with a minor lift and no trimming. I don't care about MPG, they neutered my Taco with highway gears. Make Cruiser TRD equal Rubicon. That would get me trading up my wife's 4runner.

Of course I'm also the guy wondering why Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda etc aren't offering a street legal side by side. That would get me busting out my wallet faster than a new FJ.

Where are the rapping hip-hop hamsters? No thanks.

Unless the top is removable, that thing will never challenge the Wrangler.

I could see it challenging the Renegade as a nice 4X4 for towing behind a large RV.

I thought this was something new, but both of those articles are from 6 months ago.
While there is a “segment” for it, Toyota isn’t going to build anything that could canabalize the 3rd gen Tacoma’s sales numbers...especially with a ranger and a wrangler pickup on the horizon

Automotive designers have really lost their way. I just threw up in my mouth.

When you look at the sales numbers for the FJ it’s hard to imagine that Toyota will bring it back.

This. A convertible is the only way this vehicle makes sense.

Seems like a renegade competing RAV4 is way more likely.

The 2nd one looks like Renegade wich has already been said. The first one looks like a RX. I've seen the next gen RAV4 and it looks similar to that, and that will probably be what the next gen 4R will look like.

It took me about 7yrs for the FJ to grow on me. I always thought it was a neat vehicle, never wanted one. I would like to have one now.

concept vehicles almost never look like the production vehicle. Even if they greenlight that concept to go into production - let alone a few concepts that probably wont amount to much. If and when the FJ comes again, it won't have but a few features or shapes from these concepts.

I hate this design too. Why not mine their awesome legacy designs? Just re-release an old design on modern technology from the peak of the 60s. That would sell like crazy. I don't want a modern design interpretation, just release the old design with new light bulbs, shocks etc...

They should offer the decade old design they stopped selling in 15. Fuel efficiency, who cares?
