    1. One piece DS/Better slip yoke. No drive line "clunk".
    2. Better leaf springs. No Axle wrap.
    3. Beefier frame.
    4. Beefier steering system.
    5. An actual front bumper rather than just a plastic shroud.
    6. Just a little bit better set up console.
    7. Stronger tail gate.
    8. Tougher paint job.
Other than that I love it and don't expect any more out of it. If I wanted a Lexus I would buy one. If they could improve on these things yet keep the truck looking like it is now, for me, it would be perfict.

    4x4 OFF-ROAD... that is all I need...
2010 should have some aftermarket dealer installed options that doesn't void warranty. If they offered 3" to 6" lifts w/o voiding the warranty, then that would be bad ass! I want to lift my taco, but it still has 2.5 years/30k miles warranty left. And I would like to have the peace of mind that if the suspension ever fails due to terrible installation, then Toyota will have to fix it at no cost to me.

Other things I want: heated and leather seats, side mirror heaters, cylinder shutoff where the engine uses only 3 or 4 cylinders when using cruise control, paddle shifters for quicker response during passing maneuvers, blind spot cameras on side mirrors, rear window that rolls down like the 4Runners and Tundra, built in roll cage in cabin for obvious reasons, tailgate that can not be removed.

Am I asking too much? :rasta:

x2 plus the fog light indicator on dash. Otherwise, I'm thrilled with mine.

a bigger fuel cell (23 gallons would be nice)
    better stock tires
if TRD came with all terrains lik the FJ

Rear disc brakes. I don't really have a lot of issues with the Tacoma. I think it's a pretty solid package the way it is.

I think the next Tacoma will get the new 4-Runner V6. I don't see any way it gets a V8 given the pending CAFE regulations and recent statements by Toyota that it wants to away from large trucks.

Seems like a lot of nostalgia going around here. I will say the only reason I do not own a 1st gen is that finding a clean, used, low miles, manual trans 4x4 v6 was a pipe dream.
