Any updates on +P Premium dyno yet?

 

It has been tough to get scheduled in. Shop owner was out for COVID, then he was on a business trip to Chicago (he works for HP tuners). Still actively trying. Once the Dyno is done, the charts will be added for sure!

There are other shops close to me that I could pick but I'm choosing this one because they use SAE with a correction factor of 5. I'm also wanting to do the runs with a truck closest to stock as possible. With both of those combined, it should be as honest as a Dyno run can be. No claims that it's lower because of this or that, and/or inflated numbers because we're uncorrected or using a standard that doesn't take into account things like temperature or humidity.

 

this tune is amazing so far I’m very happy with I ran the Ov tune before I would have to say this if far better then that. So much power and smoother shifting no gear hunting! Running 87 octane trucks torque is phenomenal throttle response is perfect. ECT is incredible!

 

Hell yeah! I’m still able to do testing on my 2017 6MT if needed.

What about gear hunting in normal cruise control (I know no changes to adaptive due to liability)?

 

Gear hunting is gone, but you still may experience downshifts depending on the grade, wind, weight, etc. Definitely nothing like stock.

Also, adaptive cruise control is not omitted because of liability. The people who state that are taking out of their ass, lol. The owner of vF said he'd look into finding those particular maps. No ETA on that though.

Unfortunately not but still have plans to do so. Full time work + full time school + taking care of a paraplegic dog + a legitimate Dyno shop an hour away at best isn't easy to get squeezed in. Been texting the owner frequently though, he's been a big help for everything. He knows his stuff when it comes to tuning and is familiar with VF.

 

Love this damn tune. Such a joy to drive.

Guy local to me has just started offering flashing of M+W. He mentioned it is available for 2nd gens, but i've seen nothing from any of you guys on here stating support for 2nd gens. A bit confused as I've seen nothing from you guys regarding tuning 2nd gens. Any idea if this is legit?

 

To be clear, Nexus isn't available for 2nd gens, but tuning is. There is currently still limitations to what we can do with 4Runner, second generation Tacomas and so on. However, he is a legitimate distributor of M+W Nexus.

 

To add onto what MD said we do and are developing tunes for other models, but are concentrating of perfecting the 3gt before we move onto other projects. Helps that all 4 of us own a 3gt, but some of us own or have full access to other models of Toyota/Lexus vehicles. We currently have files for, and are actively tuning 4runner & GX460. We have discussed and will be expanding to 2gt, Tundra, and GX470 in the future, but I cannot speak to the timeframe. I love my V8's so that's where my heart is, but the 2gr has grown on me now that it breathes properly. Truth be told, a couple of us are just chomping at the bit waiting for expanded AFR for the 4runner and GX platforms. No REAL gains can be had unless you tune AFR correctly. I can only think of one tuner out there diving as deep into the 2gr (besides Mat), and he's working primarily with forced induction. Fortunately, there are still some of us out there that bounce ideas off each other (like the old days) and don't screw each other over.....

I WISH I could say we haven't already had attempts from competition to debunk or debase our work, but I'd be lying (we see you). So, we're not finished with Nexus. Haters wanna hate? Hate what's coming next. We've been told this is "all mild and no wild".... Welp, we're about to get really weird with this. Y'all ain't seen nothin yet... Ope! Scuse me, got some work to do.

We haven't broke anything yet. I'm pretty damn hard on my truck, and Kevin's is obese (Over GVWR) on top of him being rough on the ol girl.

 

Short answer is no. I can't explain why without giving away the farm. Lol
