Gotcha! With my truck (stock gears, 35s, weighs 5600lbs) on highway I am normally just about 100 degrees over ambient temp (tstat pinned, bigger trans cooler, still plumbed through radiator). Big passes or hills that I floor it up (4k+ rpms in 3rd or 4th gear) I can maybe get up to 190. Was just curious how the half lock affects, sounds like its fine. And yeah my truck in 3rd will soar the tc temp, 4th it dramatically drops since the tc locks.
Think I'm going to have to try this tune out!

 

Very cool! How hard was it to put in a bigger trans cooler? That sounds like a worthy investment

 

I've seen many guys do this on tw. Seemed to be super simple . I've been considering this mod due to new 35s coming

 

Did you save as csv, and send the log to anyone?

 

Coming from KDMP to Nexus +P. 1st thing that I noticed is the tip in is just about perfect. A touch of the pedal and the truck takes off smoothly, a little more pedal and it ramps up quickly. The second thing is the smoothness as it accelerates through the gears. It needs a few more miles for the learning to settle in but initial thoughts are - this is gonna be good!

It's in development but there hasn't been much focus on it at the moment.

It is but it's easier when someone is closer so we don't have to worry about a long distance drive every weekend. We had a remote tester early on. He vanished into thin air, lol.

 

I mentioned using my truck as a tester but I live in Upstate SC

 

I'm not opposed to giving it another shot if you have vF.

 

I have a tester local here, but we've had difficulties getting our schedules aligned lately to get more testing done.
Last one showed promising results, but isn't quite there. I expect the next test to be a slam dunk.

Can you fix my problem?

 

My truck is over GVWR as it sits. During testing I was the guinea pig and gauge for how the overall transmission responds in an unlocked state, on a weighted truck, during "spirited" driving, and through moderate terrain. We managed to find that having it lock more, and at the appropriate times is ideal for the health of the transmission. Keeping the TC close to or below 210⁰ proved to keep the primary transmission cooler. Pinning the solenoid will result in even lower temps, as expected. I did this during testing for affect. Certainly helps in warmer ambient temps, but also causes transmission to be a little slow to rise to nominal. I highly doubt anyone has put as much love into the TC function as @Mooseditty17. That's his baby.
