Mine does this as well, but only if I run 85 or 87 octane, on 91/93 it runs fine. But to be 100% fair, my truck has done this since new so I wrote it off as the same issue I've always had (even with no tune at all) and just run premium gas like I've done since new. But I'd be more than willing to see if a tweaked tune improves this.
Aside from this (which, like I said, I don't blame the tune for) I'm quite happy with Blackhawk.

I would need to get a flash kit. There's nobody near me in Maine to meet with. I'm also fine with driving if there's somebody within like 12 hours. Gas mileage isnt a concern as I'm currently only getting 13 with the kd max tune, so I figure it can't get much worse. I also have the urd extractor pipes, and their full catless exhaust and a cai. So I'd like to get a tune to take advantage of that and see how much extra power I can make.

So you have aftermarket dump tubes ? Only reason I ask is you said you have catless exhaust.

@Netaco4 is located in Massachusetts. Not sure about his schedule since he travels for work a lot, but I'll get his attention so you guys can try to work something out.

Also, if you really want to take advantage of the power available, I'd strongly suggest our premium tune. The only downside is if you can't flash yourself and you want to change the octane to regular at some point, you'll need to meet up with a tuner again in order to get a tune with a wider ignition tolerance (our RegOL for example).

I've been messaging mZiggy, he got me hooked up with everything I need to do it up here myself, figured it'd be easiest that way and I wont have to travel for updates ever again. I've only ever ran 91+ anyway so I'm good with that. this is the first non heavily modified, non turbo truck I've ever had, and I drive stupid aggressive pretty much all the time. so I like the hardest hitting tunes that wont grenade my engine.

hahaha hey I don't want to cause any thread drama... for the SC, probably never on this truck, this tune is gonna be the most I spend on it in a while to make it fun to drive for me. I recently picked up a 6.7 cummins long block so I can start building my dream tow rig, because I want a 5th wheel, and the ole taco wont be able to swing that lol. so all of the little extra I have is gonna start going to that.

nothing right now besides a whole lotta hot air and the occasional utility trailer loaded with a few K lbs on the Tacoma. Summer time my whole bed is loaded with 2 50 liter water tanks, pull out drawers I made that has my flattop, camp stove, tools and whatnot, and shower system. we've been toying with the idea of living the full time rv life for a while now because we travel so much anyway, so I'm working my way towards that now since I'm retiring soon-ish. Cant afford to buy a new truck and a 5th wheel at the same time..... and then a house if we end up hating the full time stuff lol. So I'm building my own truck so I wont have payments, then getting the 5th wheel. most likely a forest river brand or vanleigh, because they have everything we'd need.

@Mooseditty17 @ktbell444 what are the prices for the Blackhawk tunes? Also is there a package that would include the Blackhawk and nexus?

Based on your question, I imagine you have vF Tuner already and just need a tune pack?

Sorry for the delayed response our Wi-Fi at work s*** out. I'm on lunch now but if you send me a DM I can respond to you later tonight with prices and options. Typically we just sell one or the other but we could certainly do a combo if that's what interests you

Ok so Blackhawk AD/premium tune first impressions review after driving for 2 days..... Coming from an older version of kd max tune(7.0). I can't really figure out how to compare the two because they're just in different classes. The Blackhawk tune is way, way ahead of what I had in every way, not that the kd was bad at all, this just delivers way more in terms of useable power delivered across the full rpm range. It's absolutely worth every penny to make the upgrade if your on the fence like I was.
