all the friggin time, the cops have told me i got a nice too, hell ive found notes on my windsheild, had random chicks in the school say i have a nice truck, and hell its gotten me some welll erm once haha

yep...even in a land full a tacos....there aren't many reg. cabs that aren't a work truck lol

 

I used to get notes on my '94 begging me to sell it. Now I notice lots of turned heads, and its like mutual gawking when I pass other tacos!

Down here in the souf, people are still stuck up domestic truck's asses, thinking a 4 decade old maxim still applies. They apparently are unaware of the reputation the Taco has in the civilized world.

That rarely happens with a bad product. Meh. Stupid is as stupid does.

 

Which makes it that much more hilarious when a taco has to save a stuck domestic.

 

I've only gotten compliments after the first month or so of ownership. I don't see any Rugged Trail editions out here, only one other one so far.

 

Don't get the compliment but I did see an 09-10 red standard cab base model prerunner today. Looked cool because it is so unique and rare. I'm no fan of red vehicles but the new red is great.

I know what you mean. I have family members (in-laws) who are like that - never received a compliment from any of them. They have called it "Jap-scrap".

At a family gathering last month, they were all standing around discussing replaced tranny's and other issues in their trucks (Ford 150, Dodge Ram, Chevy 1500). Being the bigger person, I just stood there and smiled. They're just too naive to understand my reasoning. They're all also proud union members (I am anti-union). We get along well

 

I get compliments on a regular basis. People stare all the time when I drive by. The Speedway Blue is one of the brightest colors on the road. Everyone sees it. We all have some Bad Ass trucks. I think I get more attention now than when I had my Bagged Nissan.

 

Ive gotten one or two but I used to get them all the time when I still had my f150

 

Fact of the matter is, it is a nice looking truck.

I get nice comments on all of my vehicles from time-to-time. While I think they are each nice looking, I think what makes any car or truck stand out is when they are clean, have nice wheels/tires, and appear to be well taken care of. From the picture Veccster, it looks like your's fits the description.

 

While I was at the mall yesterday a young guy about my age pulled up in a black 99' Mustang GT with black wheels. The first comment he made when he got out was "That's a nice truck man, I was gonna buy one until I found this Mustang." The Mustang that he was driving was really nice and it did feel good to get a compliment on my truck even though it's nothing extra special and stock.

 

About every time I go get gas someone comes over and says something, usually about how long the thing will last and how tough they are. I haven't done that much cosmetically, but the debadging really seems to be an attention grabber. Lots of people ask me how I like my tundra...
