Anyone else climb aboard the Switch hype train?

Pre-ordered the system, Mario Kart 8, and super edition of Breath of the Wild.

    Cant wait until 3/3/17.

It's the new system from Nintendo. It's a PSP Vita with a bigger screen, slightly faster graphics, and it can plug in at home to become a Wii.

As long as Nintendo makes their normal gamut of Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros games for it then they'll sell enough to keep on trucking.

I don't doubt it. Nintendo isn't making a pile off the bat so they don't get stuck with inventory like the WiiU.

Plus it helps demand when there are sell outs. People want what they can't have. It worked for the Wii. Still plenty of time to up production too.

I was interested in the Switch but am waiting for real world reviews other than early tech critics. The first articles that came out all paint the Switch underwhelming and that it should have just been a portable.

It will be nice to hear what real world gamers think after launch. I'll take their reviews a bit more seriously than the tekkies.

Yep, pre-ordered the gray console and the master edition of Breath of the Wild. I'll probably end up with another game at launch (probably 1-2 switch) and then Mario Kart 8 and splatoon 2 when they release.

Nah, but I haven't bought a system prior to launch since PS1. Unless you count waiting in line for NES Classic that is..

I'm still trying to get an NES Classic to put next to my original NES.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard the Switch's processing power is actually less than the Wii U? I may wait for the Switch to come out and snag a Wii U for cheaper since I don't play any games on the go. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is on Wii U and so far that's the only game I care about for newer Nintendo stuff.

from what i read, they are anticipating it to run just behind a ps4 in the graphics department. they haven't released the full cpu/gpu specs yet, but the have released side by side gameplay from the wii u and switch. definitely looked better on the switch. on the dock itll run up to 1080p and 60fps, handheld will be up to 720p.

Standard Nintendo "good enough" graphics will apply to the Switch. I expect we will see visuals similar to what a 950M graphics processor can handle at 60 FPS. If you have a computer, think about games like BF1 with every setting turned down to low and you'll have an idea of what the Switch will likely look like on games ported from other consoles. Really this is the limit of Nintendo can do because they are aiming for some portability. Anything like a 970m or above would crap on the battery life of such a device, like under a half hour type of turding, so you can get a reasonable idea of what nVidia will ship Nintendo just by looking at the resolution and portability promises. In essence, nVidia is building Nintendo a Smartphone processor on steriods. No way that will touch the architecture behind the PS4 and Xbox One, though again that's not Nintendo market.

To be fair though cartoony games like Zelda, Mario, and other Nintendo titles don't need as high a graphics processor because they aren't aiming for realism. They have simpler drawing and 3D demands than a game that is aiming for real world realism. That's the basis of the "good enough" graphics that Nintendo has embraced since the Wii. Nintendo doesn't need to haul ass at 1080p while showing off how realistic a bullet wound can be. All they need is to make Zelda look a little better then it did on the Wii U and that will satisfy the appetite of the Nintendo faithful and most of the masses. Nintendo can do that with something that is just a bit better then an iPad in all reality.
