Mario Odyssey is good. They are bringing back a Metroid game (Dread if i recall) soon as a 2D platformer so i'm looking forward to that.

I also really liked Sid Meiers: Civilization 6 on the switch.

I was a big Mario Kart 64 and Smash Bros 64 player so i have both those games. However, I liked the n64 versions better.

I bought the LimitedRunGames copy of Stranger Things 3... that's actually pretty fun. Very 8-bit and nostalgic feeling. Speaking of 8-bit type games there is Golf Story, thats pretty fun (if you like golf).

Shoot, i know i have like 25 switch games but can't think of most of them now... so probably not that worth it, lol.

But I, like you, bought the Switch for BotW.

Nearing completion of Skyward Sword HD.

Great game, difficult puzzles and good story. Nothing like BotW - not sure if I can ever really go back to a linear Zelda game but i'm still enjoying SSHD.

I’ve got to get used to the controls using the pro controller. Maybe the joy cons disconnected would be better…

It is easier with the movement of the game. It doesn’t always register the movements correctly, though, so that’s a pain in the wee wee.

I just use the Switch in handheld mode (no motion control)... it took a while to get used to but now it seems fine. Still don't like that to swing the sword you have to move the joystick certain directions... but its not as big of a pain as it was made out to be.

Finally beat SSHD. Okay game, good story. Not motivated to complete all the side quests, however.

Speaking of 2D platformers, i was on IG (I follow a lot of 'retro gaming' accounts) and found this company Elden Pixels promoting their indie games Alwa's Legacy and Alwa's Awakening. They are digital downloads and the Nintendo shop had them on sale for 50% off. So i picked both up for like $10. So far so good, has a total 8-bit NES feel, great soundtrack and good story. I'm only a little bit into Alwa's Legacy but i'm diggin it so far.

Got my copy of Metroid: Dread on Friday... Put about a couple hours of play into it over the weekend. Great game. Its exactly what you would expect a 2D platformer would be with modern graphics. The music/sound effects is perfect - and when you enter an E.M.M.I. zone, the fear is stricken into you! Its like a mad dash to escape! Excited to get further into it.

I need some recommendations. I'm a terrible gamer. Like...real bad. So I typically play puzzle and logic games.

I'm spending a bit (too much) time on the couch with broken ribs playing games. I've really liked Limbo, Inside, Agent A, Return of Obra Dinn, and am currently playing The Space Between Us.

Any recommendations similar? Or other games for someone that has never advanced beyond A, B and a direction button? Think along the lines if your grandfather was asking about games.

Finished Metroid: Dread 100%. Wow, a great game IMO. Difficult, but not so difficult it frustrates you to quit.

Ordered 'Ori: The collection'... just waiting on it to arrive. I had pre-ordered GTA: The Definitive Edition, but cancelled as soon as i started reading the reviews on the graphics being so terrible it's almost unplayable.

Picked up a few Black Friday deals. WRC 9, The Long Dark, and Little Nightmares 2.

I haven't played a racing game since Nascar Racing on Windows 95. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok5jQJoyzuw

Turns out I'm terrible at it. I find WRC almost impossible. I'll do some practice and hope I can figure it out. I'll try The Long Dark when I finally get too frustrated with it.

I only picked up one game on a black Friday deal, Hades. Read it got good reviews but other than that I know nothing about it. Still waiting on my copy of Ori: The collection to come so Hades will tide me over until it arrives.

Back to Metroid: Dread... supposedly its being nominated for Game of the Year. It really is a great game!

In the downtime between games I did play the NES version of StarTropics from the Switch online catalogue. Brought back some childhood memories.

Ran through "The Wild at Heart" pretty quickly. Fun little indie game.

Picked up Ori: The Definitive Edition (includes both "The Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps"). Beat The Blind Forest yesterday. Good little platformer game, excited for the second installment.

Ori fuckin' rules. i played it back when it was an xBox exclusive but bought it again when it came out on the Switch. i also beat Dread, not 100% yet though, still hovering around 85% some of the Speed Dash bits annoy the hell out of me.

going to go back and finish Celeste (another pixel-platformer) and then Catherine: Full Body (weird anime/ platform puzzle game).

PS5 comes in next Thursday and it'll be Resident Evil 2, 3, 7, and 8, and then finally finish Horizon in time for the new one.

The Dread speed boost ones were the worst. Took me a while to get the hang of keeping the boost going while jumping off walls and stuff. I've seen some videos of Celeste, could be another one i pick up eventually.

I still haven't had any luck with scoring a PS5... at this point i'm like I might as well just wait it out if they come out with some sort of PS5 Pro, lol. The console shortages is a joke!

I'm also playing the Ori collection. Never heard of if before this thread, so thank to whoever mentioned it first! Still on the Blind Forest. Kinda tough at places, but not nearly as tough as Hollow Knight was!

Ya i just finished The Blind Forest a couple days ago. Almost all zones are 100% except for the gold ability point boosters. Didn't feel the need to get all those.

Now onto The Will of the Wisps.
