Right there with ya...working on Will of The Wisps now. It's pretty good, but I prefer the first one better. Too much swapping out of abilities. Just give us the ability to do everything once we gain the ability, don't make us pick and choose!

Help! In Will of The Wisps, I keep coming across these statues that look like 3 stone circles on top of each other. They look important, but I can never figure out what to do with them?

Haven't started it yet. Interesting about the abilities needing to be switched. Not sure when i'll get to start the game but still looking forward to it!

My biggest excitement is BotW II coming out November 2022!

I’ll believe it when I see an official release from Nintendo.

Stressful day at work + wife’s birthday shenanigans + her early bedtime = time to crank out some new Pokémon. I really enjoy the format of this game over Sword/Shield. It’s closer to a true open world with optional side quests and uninhibited exploration (up to where I’m at, anyway).

The dialog is killing me, though. There is so much text to sift through after every plot sequence — major or minor. Maybe I’m misremembering the older games, but I also know their aim has always been introducing new players to the platform.

I REALLY enjoy that there isn’t a bunch of extraneous mechanisms involved (mega evolutions, holding items, etc.). It could be that I haven’t played long enough and they will come later, however, there seems to be a bigger focus on the story and a more natural progression of capturing/training.

Overall, if you’re a Pokémon fan, this is a solid installment.

Guess Im on the other end cause I havent cared for it. Maybe it gets better but I put in ~2 hours and really have no desire to go play it. WAY to much hand holding. Literally the whole first two hours have felt like nothing but a tutorial and no real story or anything to make me feel invested at all. Kind of like you mentioned, its been go here, now sit through a bunch of text, perform an action, go next spot, text, action, repeat over and over.

Maybe it does get better once you get past this stage of the game. But so far all its done is caused me to lose interested in playing

Haven’t bought a pokemon game in a while but so far im actually loving it, I do agree though that the dialog is a bit much. You constatly get stopped but npcs after most quests that all have to talk to you. I believe this game was a huge step in the right direction though. I never thought I would see an open world pokemon to this extent.

For anyone needing to scratch that BOTW itch, I've been playing 'Immortals Fenyx Rising', and it definitely is in the same vein. Huge open world to explore, the ability to glide from high places (eventually), different regions to explore, etc.
Of course, it's not BOTW, but it does a pretty good job of entertaining in a similar way.
By the way, I recommend playing as the female hero, only because she's pretty f'in hot and gives you something to look at during the dialog scenes, lol.

I did but lost interest. I could never get the hang of the controls. Decent game, just not really for me

@Beef Nachos i played the first one on PS3 a long time ago and liked it. Played the second one on PS4 and have yet to play the newest one. I buy a bunch of games and then collect dust until I get around to it.

btw your profile pic made me hungry

I tried buying this on some super deal day in the past couple months but it was sold out everywhere. I've heard good things about it, however.

Picked up another Elden Pixels game, Cathedral. So far so good. Another 8-bit esque platformer.

    Out of what? The platform?

    It’s a bummer, for sure.
