Nintendo Switch

Same, I’ve found a few games to keep me interested in the mean time. I wouldn’t consider myself an avid gamer — the Switch was my first console since the N64 and purchased in 2020 for the same reason as you. Probably good though, I’d end up spending too much time on couch otherwise

 

I will never be out, but as unsurprising as the news is it still sucks.

 

Picked up the Hori SwitchPad Pro. Gotta say, for $40 (Best Buy) they are damn nice. I had way too much joycon drift with my original controllers so it was time to do something.

Also, bummer about the BotW2 delay.

 

I'll be moving on once my Steamdeck arrives sometime around July.

 

Popped Stranger Things 3: The Game back in and have been progressing through it. Great little 8-bit game.

 

I'm still afraid Nintendo is going to delay it till the Switch 2 kind like they did with Twilight Princess and the GameCube/Wii.

 

Yeah. 1 and 2 were pretty good. Pre sequel also. 3 was garbage.

 

Playing full computer games like Stray and Doom Eternal at 60 fps without hitching has kind of ruined the Switch for me. I'm passing mine down to a 5 yo in the family. If anything Steam has shown how good a handheld could be if Nintendo was interested in appealing to the higher end market. TBF though there's not much price gap between a base Steamdeck and OLED switch.

 

You know, I haven’t played on the switch for a long time. It’s been collecting dust after I finished borderlands pretty quickly.

I moved on to teach myself guitar on my PS4 with RockSmith remastered or whatever and in combo to YouTube.

 

Anyone getting the new Zelda game next week?

 

Paid for my preorder on the 5th!

Unfortunately I've been on travel since earlier this week and haven't had the chance to play yet.

 

TOTK is super rad so far. I’m very pleased with how it turned out.

Let’s see if it continues this way.

Is TOTK good for a 9 year old or would it be too much. He figured out parts of the lego man games and star wars if that helps. And is there any good sports games for the switch? Or am I going to be forced to get a xbox/PS4 for a madden type game?

 

TOTK might be a bit advanced. The Mario games are super fun and my nephews love them. Odyssey and 3D World
