Nitto TG's wheel MUCH better than the BFG's.....On every surface, and even under water. In MY experiance, running them for almost 10 years. :)

depends on what kind of rocks tho too, any tires will shred on sharp rocks, they are made out of rubber

+2, anything can be abused into uselessness within a few hours.

Curious, what other soft compound tires have you run accross with 500 treadwear? I have some fresh sticker tires for my car that have 340 treadwear & they indeed feel much softer compound than the NTGs as they should but the sumitomo touring tires that are on the rav4 have a 65k warranty on them & they feel softer than the NTGs. Just not feelin ya on the soft compound thing but hey, to each their own perception & experience as has been stated.

Other than the BFGs, could you list these much better options?

Discount said they would match anything i found under what they would offer. And i found 4 for $772 and they matched so.... I probably wouldnt buy tires off ebay either because of the whole warrenty issue like you said:rolleyes:

i Never beef with Cliff...but I bought my tires from ebay and have had 0 problems.
like i have stated before about 14 k, hell maybe even 15k on them now and they still look great. Oakley wheels his truck pretty hard and i have seen pics of him in some rocky situations. if he says he and his friend have had a bad experience with the NTG's...so be it.

Plenty of people getting great mileage out of these tires. for the price...pretty hard to beat.
sure there are better options *cough Cliff swearing by the KM2's*** lol
but as the op has stated he is on a budget when it comes to replacing his tires and he is not into mudding or rock crawling so we can rule out the idea of tires being destroyed on the rocks or having shitty mud clean out.

    OP,
forums.....take everything with a grain of salt. In YOUR case, i think you will be just fine with nitto's.
