For some reason as of last year they had brought the original Terra Grapplers back. I ended up putting another set of them on mine in 285’s. New 4 runner we got last year came with original Terra Grapplers also. I thought I was going to have to get the G2’s also but they started producing them again. I’ve never had an issue with the originals and on my 3rd set of them. Toyo AT’s are good tires also in wet conditions. I’m running BFG KO2’s on my new truck and I haven’t had any issues with them either in wet conditions ( it’s a lot heavier truck though).

Right now I am leaning towards the Toyo AT3's but wonder if wet traction will be any better. They are both rated 600AB.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/75/16 and I love them. No road noise and drive great in the ran.

What pressure do you run the g2s? I run mine 36-39lbs on the streets depending on temps without any issues.

I'm also planning on putting the RGs on my OEM OR wheels whenever the factory tires are toast. I looked at all the tires suggested and they seems to be a good light weight option that's good at almost everything; cheaper too.

I'd go for the KO2 if they were lighter probably.

That's where I'm at....I would go for the KO2 but they weigh almost 50lbs....bye bye gas mileage

BFGs were my worst tire for the rain.

If you are strapped for cash, choose wisely and get what you think will be best.

If you are like me though, once I've tried it and don't like it, off they go and they get listed on Craigs List for $1. Off to the tire shop I go to try something different. It's just money and you can't take it with you.

Falken are the best all around tire but a bit heavier(47 pounds)

I decided to try the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 and they have been fine so far, their rain traction is definitely worst than the Falken which are outstanding and probably a top tier tire in the rain.

I am on my second set of Ridge Grapplers and have never had a single issue out of them.. Aggressive enough tread design with great on road manners. I have several friends who recently swapped to the Toyo AT3 and they seem to be very happy with them. Personally, I don't think you could go wrong with either tire.

Try having them siped, if your not happy with them in rain. Nothing to lose, since you already have them.

Weird, I’ve had the G2 Terra Grapplers on my Jeep Grand Cherokee for 50K miles and they’re some of the best tires I’ve ever had....granted they are in an R20 lol.

Incredible in snow and have never had any spinning or slipping issues in rain whatsoever.

The tread wear has been minimal too.

I have the same tires, they suck when wet out, might as well have racing slicks installed when it rains. Once these wear out I’m going with Michelin’s

I've run Toyo RT since last spring, no issues.

Lot's of grip, aggressive tread, not super loud, heavy though.. Passed the standing water at highway speed and drive for 11 hours straight tests with flying colours..

Best rain tire I've run is the Michelin LTX A/T2, we have them on the wife's SUV but they're not very aggressive looking.

Any aggressive looking AT tire will be marginal to scary in the rain. I have yoko g015 and they stick to the road like glue.

For water, you want something with unobstructed lateral and longitudinal tread voids.

Michelin all-terrain’s are the best but they cost out the ass.
