I'm replacing my 285/70/17 KO2's at the end of this year and replacing them with a 285/75/17 tire. I'm in between the Trail Grappler and Ridge Grappler. I don't do heavy offloading but love the aggressive look of this Trail Grappler. I ran into a guy that had them on his Runner and he was singing their praise for road driving. Does anyone have any experience with both tires and have any photos of them on their Tacoma they can share? I've done some searching on the boards and couldn't find a dedicated thread that would provide me the information I'm looking for. Thanks!

Unquestionably the trail will be loud on the highway, the ridge is more daily driver friendly.

Ridge Grapplers are kinda hybrid tires, but won't do as well as the trail grappler off road.

Ridge grapplers are fairly aggressive for it's category. I'm voting for them.

I'm looking at the Ridge Grapplers too but staying with stock 265s. I'm in the same situation, looking for aggressive styling, fairly quiet on the road and not much wheeling.

NITTO makes a damn good tire! I had the trail grapplers on my 2012. I ran the 295/70/17. I would say they are smooth and wear really well. As far as being loud...I didn't experience that at all...Maybe a slight hum. Possibly could get louder the more worn they get. I think i had about 26k on them when i traded it in. The mpgs take a slight hit with the mud tire. here is a couple of pics.....sorry these are the only ones i got...kind of hard to see what you want but hopefully it will give you somewhat of an idea

I have both tires the Ridge Grapplers and the Trail Grapplers. The Trail Grapplers are a great tire! I have 85,000 miles on mine and will be replacing them with Trail Grapplers. The Trail Grapplers in my opinion just slightly beat out the Ridge by a small margin. As far as noise goes mine are fairly quiet. I would say the Ridge has a little more noise than the Trail. You can't go wrong with either tire.

That’s interesting to hear that the ridge would have more noise on the road than the trail. You’d think the more aggressive the tread the louder it is?

34 rear 36 front. It should be a little lower but this is a good compromise.
