Ok, so I just spent the last two hours washing the truck inside and out and buffing out all the little redneck pinstripes from Stokes. Tempted to buy an old cheap yota for trails and keep this one clean from now on. Doubt it'll go over well with Jen though.lol On a positive note, my leafsprings were squeeling from Wharton but ever since the last Stokes run, they haven't made a sound. I don't get it but I'm not complaining.

Nice! I was on Amazon and bought the tacoma repair manuals.. 2 different ones but basically the same thing, and when I went to check out it showed other things in my cart from last time I was looking at stuff.. So I ended up buying a Hi Lift and all the accessories I deemed necessary and should have them in time for RC!

I've seen that before. That thing is bad@ss. When I bought this truck I was really planning on buying an old '89 and going crazy with it. Wifey didn't think it was a good idea being we're planning on starting a family soon.

Haha no not yet.. I was gonna order them last week but they wont be here in time for RC so i'm just going to wait till I actually have the money for them. I'll only be able to use it as a come along for now, or if anyone else needs it

    Good looking hitch shackle right?

They have that adapter that hooks it on your wheel so you can jack up a wheel. So you don't need sliders.

Yea I was gonna get that but I figure I can improvise with a webbing sling through the wheel if needed

ok, thats what i thought. i think Elite makes something that goes into the receiver hitch so you can use it to lift up the truck from the hitch with a hilift. you can only lift the back tires though.

and i havent seen the shackle yet. i had him ship it to my moms house since i just finished up moving to my new place this weekend and didnt have a po box set up yet. im sure its awesome though.

good call with just using the reciever.. I was thinking of :carefully: lifting with the shackle if needed.

and for lifting a tire.. only 2 reasons I can come up with are to fill a hole or if its a flat tire lift it high enough to wedge something under the axle then remove and replace the wheel/tire then jack it back up to remove the object under the axle

No.. I already have everything I need to use it as a come along
