It sounds like the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive-directance, common in the 2nd gen 4bangers.

a big thank you to Chase @ ECGS. He is sending me a replacement bushing. He wants me to send him this one so they can inspect it. He suggests that the spider gear may be badly worn which is exaggerating the slop in the cv axle.

I'll have the bushing out this weekend and will post what I find.

    This is what I found:

The bushing was worn quite a bit and the spider gear has some excessive play in it. The cv shaft looked to be in good shape.

So I never posted this video from
back when I replaced the ECGS bushing.

I've had a slight noise from the rear on accel & decel.

this is what I found when I drained the rear diff gear oil.

Thanks to Anthony aka @PSU Taco85 aka Black Pipe Fabrication for allowing me to use one of many spare 3rds he has at the BPF compound. He let me use a 4.56 geared e-locker 3rd to get me by until I can rebuild (possibly re-gear) my 3rd. I suspected a worn pinion bearing and confirmed it when I removed the 3rd.
