Tread Wright Guard Dawgs are great, can't beat the price. I've had them for a little over 2 years and on two different trucks, maybe 10k miles total. They have the typical mud terrain road noise and a high pitched whine at highway speed. Handle great on the road, work great in the sand, mud & snow & they survived a mild wheeling trip at Rausch Creek

Tackled the AC compressor swap last Saturday, took a few pictures along the way. In all the job wasn't too bad and the majority of the work is done from under the truck.
    Tools needed:
    19mm, 1/2" drive socket & ratchet
    12mm socket & wrench
    10mm socket & wrench
long 3/8" drive ratchet & 15mm socket to release tension on belt tensioner
phillips & flat head screw drivers to remove the grille
flathead/dykes to remove push clips for inner fenderwell covers
I have access to an AC machine at work to recover, vacuum and charge the system. If you don't have one or don't have access to one you can bring it to a shop to have them complete these steps.

Before getting started you will want to recover the refrigerant from the system.

I installed a Denso compressor that I purchased from Rock Auto for $359. Original equipment is Delphi and from what I've read the bearing going bad in them is common. Many people recommended the Denso.

    Comparison old vs new
As you can see the compressor is 100% ready to go & filled with the proper amount of oil.

This is the view from underneath with the skid removed.

I unbolted this bracket to help maneuver the line going to the compressor. Next I removed the serpentine belt.

I pulled the inner fenderwell cover down which allowed access to the lines and 2 of 4 bolts. Working from the wheel well was much easier than laying under the truck. In this pic I already had one line removed. I also removed the two 10mm bolts that hold the harness to the alternator bracket. doing so allowed easier access to the top rearmost compressor bolt.

Here you can see the only connector on top of the compressor.
Both lines are disconnected, 3 of the 4 bolts are removed.

All bolts removed, lines disconnected and out of the way, harness disconnected.. compressor is ready to come out. I stuck the two rubber plugs in that come with the new compressor so I didn't make a mess. To remove the compressor you have to drop and turn it to get it out.

New compressor installed. Installation is reverse of removal. I anti-seized the 4 bolts before installing them. I checked the idlers before I re-installed the belt & they felt good.

When replacing a seized or damaged compressor, most manufacturers require the replacement of the receiver drier, orifice tube & expansion valve for the warranty to be valid. I was able to flush the condenser which surprisingly looked good.

Final step was to vacuum the system to remove any moisture & charge the system with 1.39 pounds of refrigerant.

The job was a success & I now have ice cold A/C :D

hogged out the factory blank holes and fitted the two OTRTTW switches. The off road light switch will control the four behind grille lights and the bed light switch will control the two 27w 9 LED work lights that will be mounted in the bed.
