I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to get into a new gen but the idea of there not being any way of getting a TRD OR 6-Speed (that's a manual transmission for all you ninnies out there) with a six-foot bed aside from going up to Canada is hard for me to comprehend.

Sure a DC MT is available as the TRD OR but only with the shire edition short box.

Why is something made in the U.S. Only available in Canada in such a configuration?

And the real question.....who's gonna be the first Yankee to bring one back home from our Klondike neighbors to the North?

It has been this way for many years. No DCLB with MT in US.

You can't get a sport or premium with that either.

Once you get to 140 inch WB, off road becomes more difficult.

Hes talking about access cabs. You could get a 2nd gen AC TRDOR 6MT. It is a TRD-OR with a 6 foot bed and a manual transmission. In gen 3 that config isn't available.

Until recently, I would have said "me", but increasingly it looks like the buy-in-Canada-bring-back-to-States idea is a non-fucking-starter.

I probably am going to vote with my wallet and buy a 2016 Forester with a MANUAL transmission. It obviously doesn't have the off-road prowess of the Tacoma, but it's good enough for me, and more important, it's a better performer on snow and ice in the typical Minnesota winter.

This is why I just bought a 2015.

The automatic is the standard transmission. You need to stop lying to yourself that a manual is today's standard
