I know guys run them but I did a few different searches and never see the results.
Do they rub at all. I think they'll look ok on a stock no lift 2016 4x4 ?

Any negative down side to running 255/75/17 BFG KO2 vs 265/70/17 BFG KO2?

Stock sport wheels on now and TRD SEMA Wheels soon.

A lot of threads exist on this - likely why no response.

I don't know the answer, I'm just being the messenger.

True there are a few threads with a small hand full of guys running 255/75/17 tires.
The problem is nobody is saying they rub or don't rub.

They look great and the little thinner profile shouldn't hurt the fuel economy as bad as a 275?

Fuel economy on 255's is better than wider tires as tested by guys with FJ's, 4Runners, and Tacoma's, and are not at much of a contact patch disadvantage to larger tires when aired down.

Thanks. I was hoping the thin profile would let me get away with no rub.

Ditch the mud flaps if you have them and maybe. Depending on which tire your looking at you might be able to run them. Some of the 255/75s are shorter than the 275/70/17 that some have run stock. If you want to be certain and have more options go 265/70/17.

255/75/17 BFG KO2 do fit the 3rd gen with no rubbing even with factory mud flaps. For those that want to know another option.

I put 265/70/17 BFGs on mine because I was told it was the best (safe choice) with no lift. Buddy in my office rolled the dice and did 255/75/17 and he has had not one problem with rubbing. They look great as well!

Can anyone else confirm this statement? Would like to try 255/75/17's but do not want to do lift or spacers.

I'm running 255/75/17 BFG KM's on my 17 SR 4x4 with SEMA wheels. No rub at stock height, no modifications needed at all. Full disclosure, my truck never had mud flaps, so no comment on that scenario.

So when you read the Full thread I posted and see that a 33 @ 255 can fit no rub.... you decide to quote me and point out it’s a 32?

Sorry bud finished a 16 hour shift and figured I didn’t need to explain that a bigger tire fits at same width without issue....

    Have a good one.

Actually, the 33s only fit with stock wheels without rub. Pretty much any post I've seen where someone is running them on wheels other than OEM, most are SEMA or scs, they have some level of rubbing. Many have done a CMC to remedy the issue, even with a 2-3" lift. One of the major benefits to running a tall skinny tire is not dealing with the same level of modifications that comes from trying to run a 285/70.

Thanks for letting me know that you worked a 16 hour shift, bud. I work in the oilfield, I'm no stranger to 100+ hour weeks.

A little late to the party but my 2022 SR 4x4 rubs with 255/75/17’s. Granted I have a -18 offset but I used a heat gun too and I can’t seem to escape it with stock lift/suspension :(

Discount wants me to change to 265/70/17. Sad day I really wanted the 255 to work but I can’t afford a good lift to make it work :(

hopefully this helps anyone in my shoes
