Really wanted a 6-foot bed and manual on my next Tacoma. Looks like it doesn't exist. I'm sure that Sweers said in one of those early interviews that they kept the manual because the real off roaders want it. And then they don't include it on the access cab?! Lame.

Just what Sweers said. I think both work well off road. Agree that it's totally personal preference.

    Definitely manual.

Unless its a proper race slushbox, Ill take the reliability of the manual.

Pardon me, but you can get an SR5 V6 4x4 Manual in an AC? What am I missing out on the TRD OR ? I can't stand a 5' short bed. Freaking useless... I need a manual please

TRD Off-road has better seats than the SR5 IMO. I'll have to agree the short box is a tad too small at times!

You cannot. That's the exact truck I was going to order as well. I ended up going with the Manual Sport because it was the only extended cab version you could get with the 6 cylinder and a manual

Looks like there are 5 MT options, all 4x4. 4 Cylinder SR Access cab. V6 TRD SPORT AC. V6 TRD-OR DCSB, V6 TRD-Sport DCSB. edit: And V6 SR DCSB

If you want a 6 foot bed and a manual transmission V6 then you are getting the Access cab 4x4 TRD Sport.

There are two other rumored manual options that may or may not exist. I saw on the model release that there is an SR v6 DCSB available in manual, but i didn't see that config on the leaked price sheet. So that may have been erased. edit: its still there

I also hear tales that the AC TRD OR is/will be available in Canada but I'm not sure that I believe it any more. Its like the yeti. A canadian will probably chime in and confirm. not that it really helps anyone in the USA. If you really really want one, you can import it.

And what you are missing out by going Sport instead of OR is ATRAC and crawl control, and the rear locker. I also hear tales that crawl control doesn't come on the manuals either way, so that might not matter. but ATRAC is an important difference. you can add a locker relatively easily.

Multiple information sheets that I was given yesterday when ordering my truck show that the SR V6 Double Cab is available with a manual transmission. Add that to the rest of the manuals you mentioned and you have the complete line up as far as manuals go at least for the US

I was thinking of that same combo @redbull9944 @tubesock butttttttt, its a Sport without the ATRAC, and Rear Locker.... ok, kinda of a bummer cause having it from the factory is nice, especially since I've heard theyve revised the rear locker, etc... Question though? How well does that Rear Locker work/ATRAC? Is it worth spending the extra $ and getting an air locker from ARB installed? Right now i have a deposit on a DCSB TRD OR 4x4 V6 Manual.... considering changing because that 6' Bed is a huge deal... (sleeping in the back when camping) (im coming from an 07 AC 2.7L Manual 2WD)

All my personal opinion but I don't see a huge advantage of having a manual with ATRAC. If you're on a steep rocky hill the ATRAC can get a little finicky because it will only kick in when the clutch is fully engaged, which can be a little hard to get right in that situation without stalling the truck out. I'm a HUGE fan of ATRAC. I have it in my 4runner and it's really a good system in most conditions. All that said I ordered my AC Sport 6MT because of my need for the larger bed over a full cab, and I love driving a manual. I'll install an ARB air locker if I find I need it, but I think I'll be happy with my decision

Also I forgot to add, but those off road gizmos that are in the TRD Off Road are going to skyrocket the price. I figure I'll save a couple bucks on the AC Sport and put it towards some good suspension, tires, and an air locker

@redbull9944 , bingo. I think you hit it on the head. I'm bummed, but I think that's the best option for needing the 6' bed and a manual... I mean a DCLB Manual would be optimal :) I want to sleep in the back when I camp, and have virtually no set up. I was considering the DCSB but the 5'bed makes it to where you either set a tent up(takes time/being in elements) or you have to get a roof top tent(too expensive/takes time to set up/can't carry a 2person Kayak without taking it off, just to sleep... Not worth it... It's the little things, hear me?)

Hope this helps....not an OR, but a sport.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. DCLB doesn't really work out for me because of its overall length. I'd get high centered way too often where I go hunting and fishing. Only way to get everything I want (minus the e-locker) is to go with the Sport
Do you know if that was MSRP?

Interesting. The sheet I ordered from gives the model number to the TRD OR DCSB with a manual transmission but it doesn't show that there are any in my region to select from. If the pricing really is 31k and some change I might have to deal with the 5 foot bed...

Obviously crawl isnt available with a manual....
That would defy many engineering principles.

Sr5 im told is available in a manual AC version.

Not sure f true or not
