Just looked at the Toyota website, no manual PRO option available for order. Really?

Changes by region based on what's currently allocated. They will have a manual TRD PRO.

Judging by all the threads on the 2018s, I wouldn't trust anything on Toyota's website

Get a TRD Sport Access Cab in Cement and put Pro upgrades on it. You'll have an absolutely sexy truck.

The TRD Sport is the only way to get a manual in an access cab. It is also the only V6 long bed with a manual. I really don't like the Sport, but it looks like that is now my only option for a Tacoma. I don't want to spend all that money, then have to swap out the tires, shocks, springs, and put a locker on it. Toyota is doing everything they can to make look at a ZR2.

Ah yea the Sport, I forgot about it since the Sport turns me off for the same reasons. I've having a bit of buyers remorse for going with the auto...

Get the Sport and then swap the hood with someone with an OR. Next do a suspension upgrade. Maybe that would help?

But you cannot get a manual in any Colorado configuration - so I'm a bit confused o_O

The Toyota configurator is just full of shit, end of story. It isn't just region locked because I couldn't choose a manual for anything on there when I was shopping, and thought they just didn't exist- even a local sales guy told me this- until one showed up on a truck.

You're not looking hard enough. Try ZIPs from different states. I saw a couple 18 sport manuals in the San Francisco area.

I was looking at every major metropolitan area within 300 miles of Cinci for 6 months shopping for my truck. Though, I confess, I didn't try putting in a California zip!

Check cars.com, you'll find truck much easier from across the entire country.

I agree, but I thought we were specifically talking about the Toyota Configurator thing and inventory search.

Yes, but the 8 speed auto in the Colorado seems much more pleasant to drive. If I'm stuck with a AT, I at least want one that's decent to drive. I took a test drive in a 2017 TRD OR and found it really annoying on the freeway. I suspect if you just drive around town in flat country it's not too bad though. I'm still hoping the 18 Tacomas have a better tune.
