    Hello all,
I ordered my first Tacoma last week and am awaiting delivery sometime this week. 2011 4x4 doublecab in black. I did, however, get the truck without the extras like TRD or SR5. I'm planning on adding mods to it later on and wanted a blank slate to work with. Seeing all the photos on this forum and reading numerous postings, it seems like I'm the only person who owns a "basic" taco. Anyways, just wanted to say hello... Glad I found this site!

Welcome. Owning the "basic" gives you a wide open playing field for mods I wouldn't be UNhappy with that at all.

Good to know I'm not the only one. I just haven't come across a picture of a double cab 4x4 without a TRD decal on the tail-end.

Welcome...Your not alone on wanting the base model. I bought the base model in 05 and have been adding ever since. I added Detroit Truetrac to the rear in March. That made a huge difference, I would highly recommend!! No sense paying for TRD suspension if your are going to mod it right away.....

I've got a 4x4 Double cab w/out a TRD label on the tail. And not because I de-badged, I have a basic SR5 4x4. It still gets the job done and I've added the accessories from the TRD packages that I wanted.
