Lately, I have been hearing a noise that appears to be coming from the lower rear end of the truck when going over uneven pavement. It sounds like a spring or slinky type sound. Almost sounds like a chain rattling. Any ideas?

I have a rattle left front sounds like a aluminum ladder on a rack. I am thinking the heat shield on the cat, taking it back for that and the drive line vibration.

Checked the spare, that is not it.

Will look into the cat shield, but I don't think that will be it as the sound appears to be coming from the rear of the truck.

bump, any other ideas? Also checked the exhaust. It doesn't seem loose.

Double check the heat shield around the exhaust near the drive shaft balancing weight. I missed it many times in my effort to find a similar noise. It will ocassionally knick the drive shaft if you hit a bump and the shield got bent. Just an idea.
