Honestly I'm not sure. Only thought they were changing studs if one snapped during retorque. Could be possible. I'm sure someone posted the Toyota recall tech procedure so it should be listed on that

Are you talking about the whole rear setup, housing and all? If so, out of all the ones to choose from, why in the hell would you choose a 3rd gen Tacoma rear axle for the project truck? With the major howling issue and this recall, id stay away and pick something more proven.

Yes. Because it's 8.75" vs 8" and bolts right up and has an internal electromagnetic locker vs external exposed stuff and I can get it for relatively cheap as in less than the cost of an ARB alone.
The recall is for sissies who can't wrench on their trucks IMHO. Just looking to find the info and what the remedy entails just in case although this particular one didn't leak in 20k miles and apparently isn't on the recall list either.

Camburg rear end is for later funds permitting

I'll be honest if I was buying a rear end, I would just get a gasket and toss it in anyway. Pretty simple since it wouldnt be too much work to take the carrier assembly apart, with the rear end out. Torque the nuts to proper spec and you should be good. If you're worried about the studs then you could always replace those too if you're feeling frisky

I see the OP was trying to get folks who do not have leak problems to post. Yet I count three posts of people with leaks.

50,000 miles on my truck no leaking diff. However I did have them change the fluid at 30,000 miles so who knows if they caught and fixed it then.
